Finding Your Purpose: Ignore The Haters
Whether you realize it or not, you have a God-given destiny. There is something in you that God has purposed and no matter what you have been through, what you have done, or what you are doing today, it is never too late to step into the life that God has planned for you.
Too many times we disqualify ourselves by believing the lie that we are not good enough, qualified enough, or just not worthy to experience a life of better than we deserve, but that’s the whole point of grace! Grace is God’s riches at Christ’s expense, not your’s. Thank God it’s not our performance that qualifies us to live a life that’s greater than we could ever dream of!
Yes, You Can!
I won’t lie and tell you that it is going to be an easy transition, but I can promise you that it will be worth it. With the help of God there is nothing you can’t accomplish.
“With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Notice how Matthew 19:26 says, “with God.” That means it’s not only God doing everything, it’s you working with Him as a team. That’s right! God looks at you with enough confidence to help you right the wrongs that you may have created on your own! It’s as simple as listening to what God is saying about you above everything that will try to come against you.
Joseph Had A Dream
In Genesis 37, God gave Joseph a dream that his brother’s work will bow down to his. When he told them about the dream (which maybe wasn’t the best thing to do), his brothers hated him even more that they already did! So, they planned to not only kill his dreams, but actually kill Joseph!
Why would they have such a horrifying response to hearing Joseph’s dreams? The truth is, his brother’s never liked him. If you read the chapters in Genesis surrounding this story, you will see that his brothers didn’t really like anyone. They were liars, adulterers, and even murderers! They only really cared about themselves. When Joseph was born their father Jacob immediately favored him because he always did what was right…and his brothers resented him for it.
They Hate You ‘Cause They Ain’t You
There are people in this world who will hate you simply because you walk in righteousness. If they only realized they could experience the same favor if they decided to walk in the righteousness that was provided through the cross! We have all been qualified, but have to make some choices on whether or not we’re going to walk in what Jesus has given us. You don’t have to, but it would be a lot cooler if you did!
You have to learn to ignore the haters, the people who want to drag you down to their level rather than be elevated to the life God wants for them. The truth is, it’s easier to drag others down than to trust in what God says over what you see right in front of you. Those people are lazy and will do whatever it takes to distract you from the dreams God has placed in you.
Keep moving forward. Will you fail at times? Yes! Will you stumble? Absolutely! But Jesus will always be there to help you back up, you just have to allow Him to. Start dreaming, ignore the haters, and start living the life God has purposed for you.
